Tamil to greater heights, Our college student has created a massive collage of Tiruvalluvar, measuring 133 feet in height, using just paper.
N Balaji, a post graduate Computer Science student of Hindustan Arts and Science College, on Wednesday, revealed the life-like image of the poet in collage, which depicts the 133 chapters in Tirukkural, using dailies and colour papers. He hopes to get a mention in the Limca Book Of Records for this feat.
“I hope that my art will take forward the significance and legacy of Tamil, while creating an interest in the language among the youngsters,”said Balaji.
In fact, he was planning to display the image near the CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex, the venue of the Tamil conference.
Balaji had used black at the feet of Tiruvalluvur and yellow on top of the image. “It explains the slow transformation of attaining enlightenment by reading and applying the message of Tiruvalluvar in one’s life, from black, signifying ignorance, to yellow, for enlightenment,” Balaji pointed out.
The work, which cost Balaji Rs 12,000, took 75 days to be completed at his native, Karur.
