ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY LABORATORY
The Anatomy and Physiology Laboratory at Hindusthan College of Health Science is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the human body’s structure and function. This lab focuses on the study of cells, tissues, and membranes that form the foundation of our physical form, helping students to explore how these elements contribute to overall health and development. Through hands-on learning, students gain insight into how the major systems of the human body work together to maintain balance and support life.
The study of anatomy in the lab includes an in-depth examination of the basic functions and processes that occur within the human body. Students are introduced to anatomical locations, structures, and physiological functions of key components in each major system, allowing them to grasp how the body operates as an interconnected whole. This knowledge is crucial for understanding how we maintain health, as well as how the body responds to diseases and injuries.
SKILL LABORATORY
The immersive and interactive lab experience is designed to equip students with essential skills for establishing therapeutic relationships and conducting diagnostic interviews. This hands-on learning environment allows students to practice psychiatric interviewing, motivational interviewing, and diagnostic reasoning. Through low-fidelity simulations, students engage with mock patients, offering them a chance to apply their theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios. This controlled setting fosters confidence in handling various clinical situations while ensuring patient-centered care.
In addition to developing communication and diagnostic skills, the lab encourages critical thinking and empathy, which are vital for building trust with patients. By simulating diverse patient interactions, students gain valuable insights into different psychiatric conditions and learn how to approach each case with sensitivity. This lab environment helps prepare students for real clinical settings, enhancing their ability to conduct effective interviews and make informed, compassionate decisions.
OPTOMETRY LABORATORY
The Optometry Laboratory at Hindusthan College of Health Science offers students access to state-of-the-art instruments that mirror those used in clinical practices. Each piece of equipment is regularly updated to ensure students are trained on the latest technology in the field. With no restrictions on the use of these tools, students are given ample opportunities to develop their skills, gaining hands-on experience in a wide range of optometric procedures, from basic eye examinations to advanced diagnostic tests.
The lab is fully equipped with Retinoscopes, Keratometers, Lensometers, Tonometers, and visual acuity charts, including a refraction room with a Snellen drum. Specialized equipment such as Low Vision Aids, Jackson Cross Cylinders (JCC), Contact Lens Laboratory setups, and Binocular Vision Testing instruments further enhance the learning experience. These resources ensure that students not only master the technical aspects of optometry but also build the confidence to apply these skills in real-world clinical settings.
